The goal for this club is to educate others on the field of nutrition, as well as bring them together and make new connections. Nutrition tends to be much more fun in a group environment and makes it easier to earn new attributes and gain valuable knowledge. On top of that, our nation has been suffering from various diseases and conditions, such as heart disease and iron deficiency, that could have been prevented had they understood specifically what food to eat and what not to eat and why that is the case. Plus, the rise of social media and other things has given us the image that when we hear the words nutrition, or wellness, we think of a guy with 6-pack abs or exercising in the gym. That however, is not the case. Nutrition is about learning what nutrients one's body needs and which foods provide those nutrients.
We are hoping to achieve this goal mainly through, fun events, monthly outings, and a speaker series, which will feature leading experts on fields such as gastroenterology, psychology, and nutrition science.
